Question by Nicholas: Is there any way to reduce/remove mortgage insurance on 30-year fixed FHA loan inside of 5 years?
I bought a house in Miami in December, and 2011 using a 30-year fixed FHA mortgage. I have more than 50% equity in the home. At the time I hadn’t lived in the USA for over two years so I didn’t have enough credit to qualify for a conventional loan. Would I be responsible for FHA mortgage insurance even if I refinance to a conventional loan?
Thanks to the first responder, approved to the second: We are more concerned with getting out of paying five years of useless mortgage insurance to the FHA when our Loan-to-Equity ratio is less than 50%. It’s difficult to see how a hardship letter would help, but thank you anyways.

NOPE
FHA insurance is only for FHA loans
And with more than 20% equity in property, when you refi, you won’t have to pay PMI, which is a substantial extra monthly cost in addition to the initial premium

Hauck Mansion

Beautiful mansion – initially the summer season residence for John Hauck, online a Cincinnati beer baron. It has been beautifully renovated. Main downside is it is the region about it has turn out to be an industrial variety region. I was shocked to see it when driving by and had to quit and take images.

Lee Hall Mansion

Lee Hall Mansion is the only large antebellum plantation residence remaining on the lower Virginia Peninsula. Completed in 1859, Lee Hall Mansion was residence to affluent planter Richard Decauter Lee (of the York County Lee loved ones), his wife Martha, and their young children. Only 3 years following the house’s completion, the Lees fled their home as the Peninsula became 1 of the 1st battlegrounds of the Civil War.
Built on high ground, Lee Hall Mansion had a pure and commanding view of the countryside. Consequently, between April and May of 1862, the home was utilized as a Confederate headquarters by Significant General John B. Magruder and Common Joseph E. Johnston. From this place, Magruder and Johnston directed the defense of the Peninsula against Significant Common George B. McClellan’s advancing Union Army, and for 3 weeks delayed the Union advance.
Nonetheless, on May three, 1862, the Confederate Army was ordered to retreat. A modest skirmish was fought on the house by the retreating Confederates and Union cavalry on Could 4, 1862. The Peninsula remained below Union manage till the finish of the war. The Lees eventually returned to the residence and resided there till 1871. Given that then, several various people have owned Lee Hall Mansion.
The City of Newport News bought Lee Hall Mansion in 1996, restoring the house to its antebellum look. Now an historic house museum documenting the 1862 Peninsula Campaign, Lee Hall Mansion’s decorated rooms and the 1862 Peninsula Campaign Gallery are open to the public. Particular programs and lectures are presented all through the year interpreting how the Civil War forever altered the fabric of American society.
